I HAVE OPENED NATURE'S GATE!!!!

No, Really. I just opened a new bottle of conditioner made by Nature's Gate :) I decided to give another try at getting this hair to LOOK MOISTURIZED! (it's been impossible). So I stopped at an Organic Store in a neighborhood I frequent and saw a conditioner that looked like a bottle of "blaahhhh, BORINGGGG" but then I opened it and fell in LOVE with the smell. It is again, Nature's Gate Conditioner, herbal daily conditioning and dont judge me but it smelled like a lot of rastas smell to me...but thats a GOOD thing...probably all the natural stuff in it. But anywho, it doesnt give as much slip as my other conditioners, so I threw some Vegetable Glycerin up in my hair while washing it. Otherwise it was OKAYY. Im more in love with the smell than anything else. I then did braided bantu knots on my freshly washed hair which was a FAIL when taken down the next day but i do have a pic of my hair after washing it with the Nature's Gate (b4 the failed bantu knot out) so here goes:

and oh, here are the ingredients for the Nature's Gate Conditioner (let know your thoughts):

The FOLLOWING day, I did use the conditioner and a soft brush with some water to pull my hair back with a string for a big ponytail. I did appreciate that since this stuff is BROWN it didnt leave my hair GRAY like most conditioners, leave ins, gels, and hair lotions do to my hair when applied for smoothing, I dont get it!!!

What do YOU use to give your hair that smooth and moist look when pulled back?

To Be Quite Candid....

I started my natural hair journey on July 3, 2010 (my last relaxer), I cut off the relaxed ends on June 28, 2011(all of MAYBE two inches). At the time, I had hopes and dreams and warm fuzzy thoughts of having "good hair" because of my Japanese roots. HA! Either my mother is already losing her memory at the age of 39 (REALLLY doubt it) or my hair is now MUCH different than she describes it to have been when I was a kid. Either way, I'm workin with what I've got. COARSE, dry, uncooperative hair at the very front and sides and pretty little black girl curls every where else. YES I said black girl curls! Because clearly, I thought going natural was going to make me a different nationality and give me silky smooth, looks-like-it-came-out-a-pack-of-weave hair! So its time to wake up and face the truth. Walk wit me guys :)

Washed, the day I got the relaxed ends cut off 6/28/11
